Membership

Becoming a member

Membership of the Bendigo Four Wheel Drive Club is open to singles, couples or families who enjoy the outdoors and exploring.

Membership is open to all types of 4WD vehicles although prospective members with All Wheel Drive vehicles should note there will be some trips that AWD vehicles are not suitable for based on the limitations of the vehicle.

 
  • Joining year $140 for singles or $160 for families (includes accredited training).
  • Annual fee after first year $90 for singles or $110 for families.

The joining fee contributes to the following:-

  1. Accredited Driver Training.
  2. Name badges.
  3. Vehicle stickers (club and FWDV).
  4. Copy of the Incorporation Rules and Bylaws..
  5. Access to club information, knowledge sharing and online resources.
  6. Insurance through Four Wheel Drive Victoria.

Prospective members can download a copy of the Membership Form form here and submit the completed form to the club.

Belonging to a four wheel drive club gives you the opportunity to meet and travel with people who have the same interests as yourself. It's a great way to meet new friends and traveling companions. Some of the other benefits include;

  • Participating in club trips safely to remote or isolated areas in a responsible manner, learning new tips and techniques as you go.
  • Increased awareness of correct four-wheel driving techniques with driver education navigation, trip planning and other courses like chainsaw operation and first aid.
  • Accessing the collective 4WD and camping knowledge of other Club members.
  • Gain invaluable technical information on your vehicle and trip preparation tips including checklists, tips and techniques shared from other members.

In addition to meeting people who share a passion for four wheel driving and touring, club members also receive:

  • A Monthly Club magazine including trips reports as well as upcoming trips and events.
  • Membership of Four Wheel Drive Victoria including bi-monthly edition of Track Watch magazine(a publication produced by Four Wheel Drive Victoria) 
  • Four wheel drive training courses, from beginner through to advanced level.
  • Access to Management Vehicle Only Tracks and Mt Skene Permit Scheme over the winter period.
  • Coverage under the Four Wheel Drive Association public liability and personal accident insurance policy.

General Meetings are held on the 2nd Wednesday of the month at 7.30pm (except January) at the Reservoir Hotel, 160 Condon Street, Kennington (Bendigo).  Meals available in the Function Room from 6.30pm. At some meetings we have a guest speaking, who passes on a variety of relevant information.

New members and visitors are always welcome to attend the meetings.

From October 2022, meetings will be held at the Reservoir Hotel, 160 Condon Street, Kennington (Bendigo).  Meals are available in the Function Room from 6.30pm and many members take this opportunity to catch up with each other.
Bendigo 4WD Club Inc. is a member of the Victorian Association of Four Wheel Drive Clubs (VAFWDC) and supports inter-club activities.
